• Description: Part of Maya Lin's first collection of production furniture, which she designed for Knoll's 60th anniversary in 1998, Stones includes a low elliptical table with a slightly convex top and elliptical stools in two sizes. each with a slightly concave seat. The hollow designs are made of an intergrally colored, lightweight fiberglass-reinforced cement, a durable composite material with a long life span. Stones can be used indoors or out, and are available in five earth colors. At the heart of this furniture collection for Knoll is my love for the land, which can be traced back to my childhood in the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio, say Ms. Lin. It goes back to childhood fascination we all have - that moment when you discover that the earth is round...and you walk around trying to see that curve.
