• Description: Runway returns with a new volume entirely dedicated to the Spring / Summer 2011 collection recently presented in Milan. The diverse monographs of the most important designers of this fashion week, and an overall trend of the next season, given in a comprehensive preview, make this volume an indispensable business tool for the 'insiders' of the fashion industry. The coming season is alive with contemporary vibration, more colour, energy, graphics, lively inlays and patchwork. In fact, the Milan fashion elite from Prada to Fendi, Jil Sander to Gucci, makes a bold choice in terms of colouring, playing with blocks of colour that displace the traditional colour combinations. The Klein blue of a caban overlaps with an emerald green top and bright orange drainpipe trousers for a technicolour look, but if this were not enough, Miuccia Prada and Donatella Versace expertly mix brighter shades shades with more unusual striped patterns, for a tribal-pop effect and a stunning and totally new result. The feminine silhouette throws itself upon us, broadening out only in the lower part of the body: this ranges from a perfect egg-shaped caban of Haute to the liquid-effect calf-length skirts of Bottega Veneta, from the ethereal and transparent blouses of Gabriele Colangelo to the long, billowing dresses of C'N'C, clothing that represents the model of a new fluidity in which each form is deconstructed. This new 'hot' season also sees the emergence of ankle-length dresses, maxi skirts, soft trousers, long jackets and waistcoats that originate from a revisiting of new geometries. Circles and squares, rectangles and triangles, are often played around with. While for Antonio Marras and N.21, silhouettes become flared, John Richmond and Frankie Morello opt for geometric necklines and deep and symmetrical slits. It is a short step from architecture to sculpture and thus many designers on the catwalks of Milan, compete in a new 'origami' style, made of inlays and perforated panels for a decor effect, with results as interesting as they are opposites. Sportmax proposes petal pleats and delicate open-work for tunics and shorts; Gianfranco Ferre celebrates the art of weaving, working his knitwear in a wicker effect; Gucci overlaps asymmetries and carves leather one shoulder dresses and blouses with a transgressive attitude. It will be a season in which fluid and clean lines define an elegance made by the possibility to choose and get closer to garments that really appeal, in a mix of styles, colours and fabrics that makes every woman an interpreter and designer herself. images: 2000 pages: 608 format: cm. 24,5 x 33
