• Description: It is hard to say which runway trends are taking hold ready for the Autumn/Winter collections of 2012/2013, as the range of looks is somewhat overwhelming. There is literally everything and I'm not exaggerating. Some of my favourite themes featured in this particular copy of Fashion Trend Collections are 50's prom, gothic romanticism, lace, women's tailoring, capes, fur, leather and of course, the ever present LBD, or the 'Little Black Dress'. The LBD was created by none other than Coco Chanel in the 1920's, a era where most women wanted big and heavy dresses and hats, decorated with an unreal amount of ruffles, feathers, jewels and colour. Chanel brought the colour black out of the mourning period and into everyday elegance and we have never looked back. People were initially shocked at her lack of corseting, the simply cut material and the figure hugging shape, but everyone soon followed suit, from Dior and Burberry to the likes of high street shops everywhere, the LBD is a staple in every girls wardrobe, and as Vogue stated back in 1926, 'a sort of uniform for all women with taste.'
